BMD forecasts light to moderate rain across country in next 24 hrs
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain or thundershowers in all divisions, including Dhaka, within the next 24 hours starting at 9:00am on Sunday.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely in many areas of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and in a few places in the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of the Rangpur division," according to a meteorological office update.
The country’s highest 120mm of rainfall was recorded in Jashore in 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, according to the BMD.
The highest temperature in the country over the past 24 hours, recorded till 6 AM Sunday, was 34.2 degrees Celsius in Ishurdi, Pabna, while the lowest temperature was 24.3 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.
Meanwhile, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
