BNP leader hacked to death in Chattogram's Mirsharai
A BNP leader, Kabir Ahmad Saudagar (70), was brutally hacked to death by terrorists in Mirsharai of Chattogram.
The incident occurred on Thursday (October 10) evening at Didar Timber Door and Furniture Store in the Gach Market of Baraiyarhat municipality. Several people were injured while trying to save him.
Kabir Ahmed was the former vice president of Hinguli Union BNP and was currently serving as a member of the union committee. The injured include Didarul Alam (42), Jamshad Alam (35), Abdul Barek (28), Shariful Islam (30), and an unidentified person (30). Didarul and Jamshad are the sons of the deceased.
Didarul Alam Miazi, the convenor of Baraiyarhat municipality BNP, said that a robbery occurred at Kabir Ahmed’s shop a few months ago, which created a feud between him and Zia Uddin Bablu. On Thursday evening, a group of 7-8 armed assailants attacked Kabir at his shop and severely injured him. He died at the scene. His two sons, Didarul and Jamshad, along with several employees, were injured while trying to protect him. They are demanding the immediate arrest of the murderers.
ATM Shifatul Majdar, the officer in charge of Zorawargonj Police Station, confirmed that the attack was due to a feud and that several others were also injured. Kabir died while being taken to the hospital, and his body has been recovered from the hospital and brought to the police station.
He added that legal action will be taken if the victim's family submits a written complaint for investigation.
