Describing the BNP-Jamaat-Chhatra Dal-Shibir as militants, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said they put their claws on Bangladesh to destroy its development. "The Shibir-Chhatra Dal-BNP-Jamaat are the militants and they put their claws on us to undermine the country's development," she said. She made the remarks while holding a meeting with the leaders of 14-party at her official residence Ganabhaban on Monday (29 july) evening, reports BSS. The Premier said countrywide mayhem was completely a militant act designed by BNP-Jamaat clique to undermine the country's development. "The incidents, which are happening in the country, are not political matters, rather a complete act of militants. It is aimed at destroying Bangladesh," she said. She came down heavily on the BNP-Jamaat clique to carry out the nationwide destruction cashing in the quota reform movement. Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh has reached in a dignified position on the global stage with socio-economic and infrastructure development across the country. "Everyone is now showing honour to Bangladesh," she said. "The Prime Minister said quota was not an issue, rather its target was to destroy the establishments which were providing service to the people and help make Bangladesh prosperous," she added.

বিএনপি-জামায়াত-ছাত্রদল-শিবিরকে জঙ্গি উল্লেখ করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেছেন, তারা বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়নকে ধ্বংস করতে আমাদের ওপর থাবা দিয়েছে। তিনি বলেন, “শিবির-ছাত্রদল-বিএনপি-জামায়াত জঙ্গি এবং তারা দেশের উন্নয়নকে ব্যাহত করতে আমাদের ওপর তাদের থাবা দিয়েছে।” সোমবার (২৯ জুলাই) সন্ধ্যায় গণভবনে ১৪ দলের সঙ্গে বৈঠকের সূচনা ভাষণে এ কথা বলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। সরকার প্রধান বলেন, দেশের উন্নয়নকে ব্যাহত করতে দেশব্যাপী তান্ডব সম্পূর্ণভাবে একটি জঙ্গি কর্মকাণ্ড। তিনি বলেন, “বাংলাদেশে যে ঘটনাগুলো ঘটছে, আসলে এটা কোন রাজনৈতিক কিছু না। এটা সম্পূর্ণ জঙ্গীবাদী কাজ। এর উদ্দেশ্য বাংলাদেশকে ধ্বংস করা।” কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলনকে কাজে লাগিয়ে দেশব্যাপী ধ্বংসযজ্ঞ চালানোয় বিএনপি-জামায়াত চক্রের কঠোর সমালোচনা করেন তিনি। শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, আর্থ-সামাজিক ও অবকাঠামোগত উন্নয়নে বাংলাদেশ বিশ্ব দরবারে একটি মর্যাদাপূর্ণ অবস্থানে পৌঁছেছে। তিনি বলেন, “বাংলাদেশের নাম শুনলে সবাই সমীহ করে। সবাই সম্মানের চোখে দেখে। আর্থ-সামাজিক ও অবকাঠামোগত উন্নয়নের মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশকে একটা আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে আমরা তুলে আনতে সক্ষম হয়েছি। প্রধানমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, “এদের উদ্দেশ্য এখন বোঝা যাচ্ছে যে কোটা কোনো ইস্যু না। একে একে যে কয়টা প্রতিষ্ঠান বাংলাদেশকে সেবা দেয় ও মানুষের জীবন মান উন্নত করে, তা ধ্বংস করা। অর্থাৎ বাংলাদেশকেই ধ্বংস করে ফেলা।”
