Body of Chinese citizen recovered in Cumilla
Police have recovered the body of a Chinese woman from a building in Cumilla city.
The body of the woman working at Cumilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ) was recovered on Saturday (June 29) morning from a house in Noagaon Choumuhani area at Ashrafpur in the city.
The deceased has been identified as Shan Huanmei (52) who was working at PY Garments in Cumilla EPZ.
According to the police and locals, Shan Huanmei lived on the 3rd floor of a building named Bismillah House at Noagaon Chaumuhani in the city. Her colleagues informed the police as they got no reponse after knocking at her door at 8:30am to9 go to the office. Later, the police went to the spot and recovered her body.
Kabir Hossain, in-charge of the EPZ police outpost in Cumilla, said that the Chinese citizen may have died of a stroke.
“The body has been sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Her husband has left China for Bangladesh after getting the news. After the arrival of the husband, it will be decided where the body will be sent,” he added.
