Body of the filmmaker recovered from home

The police have recovered the body of film director MA Awal (55) from his residence at Moghbazar in the capital.

He directed two films: 'Rajpather Badsha' and 'Kacher Shotru'.

He used to rent a house on the fifth floor of a building on Dilu Road in Moghbazar. On Tuesday (May 7) night, the police went there, broke open the door and recovered his body from inside the house.

SI of Hatirjheel police station Md Enamul Haque said on Tuesday night they went to the spot, broke open the door and found him lying dead on the bed. His body was recovered from there around 12:30 in the night and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, Awal's friends said that he was ill for a long time. It is initially believed that he died due to illness.
