BRAC University students block Badda road demanding quota reform
Students of BRAC University have joined the quota reform movement by blocking the road in Badda to press their one-point demand of quota reform in government jobs.
They blocked one side of the road around 10:30 am on Tuesday (July 16).
According to the police and related sources, traffic is stopped on the road from Badda to Kuril Bishwa Road due to the students' blockade. Due to this, hundreds of vehicles including public transport coming through Banashri and Abul Hotel fell into a long traffic jam. As a result, many are choosing Hatir Jheel as an alternative route.
In this regard, SI Mozzamel Haque of Badda police station told the media that after 10:30 in the morning, the students are protesting by blocking the road. Due to the students' agitation, the road traffic from Rampura to Kuril Bishwa Road is completely closed. However, traffic on the road from Merul-Badda to Rampura is partially open.
