Brazil foreign minister Mauro Vieira to arrive Dhaka today
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira will arrive in Dhaka today (April 7) on a two-day visit to bolster trade and investment relations between the two countries.
This is the first time ever a foreign minister of Brazil is visiting Dhaka, says a press release. According to the foreign ministry release, he will visit Bangladesh on April 7-8.
During the visit, the issue of increasing trade and commerce between the two countries will be discussed mainly.
Bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Brazil has increased to $2.72 billion in 2023 from $1.52 billion in 2021. Of this, Bangladesh's exports to Brazil are worth $200 million.
Minister Vieira will hold meeting with state minister for commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu at 3:00pm.
Later, he will join a meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Hasan Mahmud around 5:00pm. Tomorrow, he will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
