BSF returns Bangladeshi teen abducted from Panchagarh border
Bangladeshi teenager Abu Raihan Islam alias Wasim (17), who was abducted from the Panchagarh border to India, has been returned by the country's Border Security Force (BSF). He was returned at around 10:30 am on Thursday, through a flag meeting between BGB and BSF at the Senpara border area of Amarkhana union in Panchagarh Sadar upazila.
The teenager, Abu Raihan Islam, is the son of farmer Rezaul Karim of Senpara area of Amarkhana union. He studies at a Hafezi madrasa in Dinajpur district. He came to visit his home a few days ago on vacation.
Earlier, on Wednesday at around 3:15 pm, BSF captured Abu Raihan from Main Pillar No. 746 in the same border area. Upon receiving the news, members of the Tokapara BOP of the 56th BGB Battalion in Nilphamari demanded his return and called for a flag meeting with the BSF at the company commander level.
After being sent back, Abu Raihan was kept at the Tokapara camp of the BGB until this afternoon. Later, at around 1:15 pm, the BGB took him to Panchagarh Sadar Police Station for handover.
