Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Vice Chancellor Satya Prasad Majumder said that if the complaints of the protesting students are proved, the BUET administration will take action according to the law.

He came up with the remark while talking to the reporters around 1:30pm on Saturday (March 30). Earlier, BUET students protested on the campus for various demands including the permanent expulsion of six students, from the morning for the second day. Later at 12:30 pm, they ended the movement for the second day. However, if the demand is not accepted, the students will protest on Sunday (March 31) morning.

BUET Vice-Chancellor said, "University administration agrees with the students' movement. But it is not possible for anyone to do anything outside the law. An investigation committee has been formed. The committee has been asked to submit its report by April 8. After that the academic council will meet and decide. The Vice-Chancellor can only expel from the hall. The academic council will take action for breach of discipline."

He also said, "There were many departmental exams today. But as the students do not appear in that exam, they will be shown as absent there. Retake will be done as per the rules. However, applications for re-examination may be considered by the Academic Council."

Earlier on March 27 night, the central president of Bangladesh Chhatra League, office secretary, and many others entered the BUET campus. BUET student Imtiaz Rabbi played an important role in this. General students started movement questioning the university administration, fearing the resumption of political activities on the campus and insecurity due to such activities in BUET. Later, the BUET administration expelled Imtiaz Rabbi from the hall on Friday night in the face of student agitation.
