Bullet-hit Barakhali UP chairman succumbs to injuries

Chairman of Barakhali Union Parishad (UP) in Bilaichari upazila Atumang Marma succumbed to his injuries at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).

Marma breathed his last around 11:48pm on Thursday while undergoing treatment at the CMCH for nine days since miscreants open fire on him.

Atumang Marma was attacked by a gang of miscreants during the second phase of the upazila Parishad elections on May 21.

Locals rushed him to Ruma Sadar Hospital on May 22 where he received first aid for gunshot wounds to his hand and leg but later he was shifted to CMCH as his condition deteriorated.
