Bumrah named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for December

Jasprit Bumrah has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for December 2024, defeating Pat Cummins and Dane Paterson to claim the honor. The Indian pacer claimed 22 wickets in three Test matches at an average of 14.22, leading India’s bowling attack throughout the series.

Bumrah's standout performances included a four-wicket haul in Adelaide, a nine-wicket match performance in Brisbane, and a five-wicket haul in Melbourne. Despite India’s struggles, Bumrah’s efforts were instrumental in keeping the team competitive.

He also reached his 200th Test wicket during the series, becoming the fourth-fastest player to do so and the first to achieve the milestone with an average under 20. His exceptional performances earned him the Player of the Series award and cemented his reputation as one of the world’s top bowlers.
