Bus fare reduction by 3 paisa per km recommended

The committee in charge of fixing bus fares has recommended a reduction of 3 paisa per kilometre.

This recommendation was made today (April 1) at a meeting of the committee led by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chairman Noor Mohammad Majumdar.

According to the proposal, the inter-city bus fare will be Tk 2.12 per kilometre instead of Tk 2.15.

Fare of buses plying on the city roads will be Tk 2.42 per kilometre instead of Tk 2.45.

The recommendation will be sent to the Roads and Highways Division and if approved, the division will issue a circular, said the BRTA chairman.
