Bus-autorickshaw collision claims 3 lives in Rangpur

Three individuals died and three were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and an autorickshaw in Rangpur on Saturday (June 8).

The accident occurred in Gunjipur area of Gangachara Upazila in Rangpur. Shariful Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Taraganj Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.

One of the deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Diba Rani Sarkar from Kishorganj Upazila in Nilphamari.

Quoting locals, the police reported that the bus was traveling from Jaldhaka in Nilphamari to Rangpur, while the autorickshaw was on its way from Pagla Pir to Kishorganj. The collision between the two vehicles led to the immediate death of one person, with two others succumbing to their injuries after being taken to the hospital.

According to OC Shariful, the three bodies have been kept in the morgue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
