Bus-Pickup collision claims 13 lives in Faridpur

At least 13 people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van in Kanaipur area of Faridpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning (April 16).

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Md Hasanuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the matter. He said, "The accident took place around 7:30am on Tuesday when a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction collided with a bus of Unique Paribahan bound for Magura from Dhaka."

Fire service and police are conducting rescue operations in the spot.
