Bus-truck collision kills 4 RMG workers in Dhamrai
Four readymade garment (RMG) workers were killed and at least 16 were injured in a collision between a bus carrying workers of a garment factory and a truck in Dhaka's Dhamrai.
The identity of the deceased and injured is not yet known.
The accident took place in Khagurta area of Kalampur-Kawalipara road around 10:15 pm on Wednesday (November 20).
According to the police, a high-speed brick-carrying truck coming from Kalampur collided with a bus carrying labourers coming from the opposite direction on Wednesday night in Khagurta area. At least 20 people including bus passengers were injured. After rescuing the injured and taking them to the local hospital, the doctors on duty declared four of them dead.
Confirming this fact, Dhamrai Police Station OC Monirul Islam said, "Three of the workers died on the spot and one died after being taken to hospital. They were workers in a Graphic Design garment factory in Dhamrai. Sixteen injured persons have been admitted to different hospitals.”
