CA firm on holding election between December, June
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has reiterated his firm stance regarding the 13th National Parliamentary Election, stating clearly that the government will not go beyond June of next year.
On Saturday (May 24), the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, informed journalists of this statement.
He said, “Professor Yunus remains steadfast in his position. He has set a clear timeline and will not go beyond it. The next national election will be held between December and the upcoming June.”
Shafiqul Alam also said that when BNP leaders visited the Chief Adviser’s residence to meet with him, he conveyed the same message to them.
The Chief Adviser held three separate meetings at the state guesthouse Jamuna with delegations from the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP).
These statements were made during a later briefing by Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam. Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder were also present during the briefing.
