Cargo ship sinks in Rupsa, 2 missing

A fertilizer-laden cargo vessel named MV Three Light-1 has sunk after colliding with the pillar of a railway bridge in Rupsa River in Khulna.

Out of 13 people working on the ship, 11 managed to reach the shore but two are still missing.

This incident happened on Sunday (April 7) afternoon. A crew of the ship who swam ashore confirmed this information to Views Banghladeh.

However, his identity was not immediately known.

Inspector in-charge of Rupsa naval police outpost Md Nurul Islam Sheikh said that search operations are being conducted to find the two missing persons. And the authorities concerned will take steps to recover the cargo.
