Chattala Express derails on Chattogram-Cox's Bazaar route
A few carriages of the Chattala Express derailed near Dulahazara of Chakaria upazila on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar rail line due to the removal of the nuts and bolts of the railway line by the miscreants, said the locals.
The incident took place around 10.00am on Wednesday.
Golam Rabbani, Cox's Bazar station master, said, "Chattala Express derailed near Dulahazara around 10:30 am, an hour before reaching its destination. Repair teams were dispatched from Chattogram to repair the line."
However, he could not specify the cause of the accident.
Hasanul Islam Adar, chairman of Dulahazara Union Parishad, said, "Initially, it is suspected that miscreants caused the accident by removing rail line stones, nuts, and bolts."
