Chief adviser arrives in Switzerland to attend WEF
Chief Adviser to the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has arrived in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual conference. He arrived in Zurich, Switzerland at 5:20 pm Bangladesh time on Tuesday.
The Chief Adviser's press wing gave this information on Tuesday (January 21) evening.
The press wing said that the Chief Adviser arrived at the Zurich International Airport at 10 am local time in Switzerland. The Chief Adviser was welcomed by Switzerland's Ambassador to Geneva Md. Arifur Rahman.
It is learned that the Chief Adviser left for the country in the early hours of Monday morning on a four-day visit. During the visit, he will attend the World Economic Forum annual conference in Davos, Switzerland from January 20-24.
Apart from attending the conference, the Chief Adviser will hold bilateral meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, King Philippe of Belgium, and Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on the sidelines of the Davos Forum.
Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard, as well as heads of several organizations, CEOs and chairmen of various companies and entrepreneurs will meet the Chief Adviser. He is also scheduled to give interviews to several international media outlets.
After completing all the formalities, Dr. Yunus is scheduled to leave Davos for Dhaka on January 24.
