Chief adviser's statement on elections unclear: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the chief advisor's statement that ‘elections will be held between December and June next’ is unclear.

He said, "This is not a roadmap announcement. We have repeatedly said to give an election roadmap. Otherwise, the country's crisis will not end."

Mirza Fakhrul made these remarks after paying homage at the tomb of BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of Independence and National Day on Wednesday (March 26) morning.

He also said, "BNP is not talking about elections to come to power, but to realise the people's voting rights. Only an elected government can resolve crisis."
