Child death while undergoing circumcision, medical center closed

There have been allegations of another child's death due to wrong treatment while undergoing circumcision at a hospital in the capital. This time, the incident took place at JS Diagnostic and Medical Checkup Center in Malibagh on Tuesday night (February 20). Police have arrested two doctors and closed the medical center in this incident.

The arrested doctors are - SM Muktadir and Mahbub. Hatirjheel Police Station OC Md. Awlad Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday (February 21). He said that the child's father filed a case regarding the death of Ayham while undergoing circumcision. He has filed a case against 5 unidentified persons including Dr SM Muktadir.

The OC said, "The JS Diagnostic and Medical Checkup Center has been closed in this incident. Two more doctors have been arrested. Initially, they are being interrogated."

The child's family complained that Ayham was admitted to the health center in Malibagh around 8.00pm on Tuesday for circumcision. He did not regain consciousness after giving anesthesia. He was pronounced dead within an hour.

Earlier, 5-year-old Ayan died while undergoing circumcision at the United Medical College Hospital in the capital. The case is ongoing in the court.
