China-Bangladesh relations are strengthening further: Xi

Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that in recent years, China and Bangladesh have enjoyed solid and profound political trust, and fruitful practical cooperation in various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.

In a letter sent to President Mohammed Shahabuddin, the Chinese President congratulated the latter on the occasion of Bangladesh’s Independence Day, says a Chinese Embassy press release.

In the letter, Xi Jinping noted that over the past 53 years, Bangladesh has steadfastly upheld its independence, strived to develop its economy and improve people's livelihood, and made remarkable achievements, laying a solid foundation for realizing the dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’.

The Chinese President pointed out that the two countries are traditional friendly neighbors, and the friendship between the two countries has grown from strength to strength.

Xi Jinping put emphasis on the development of China-Bangladesh relations and standing ready to work together to further advance high-quality Belt and Road Cooperation and deepen the China-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership of Cooperation.
