Chittagong wins with a bang in Usman's century match

Just as the team’s bowling had a bad day, Durbar Rajshahi could not take advantage of batting today. Chittagong Kings won with a bang in the 200-plus match thanks to Usman Khan's century.

Mohammad Mithun's team secured its first win in the BPL by serving Enamul Haque's team with second defeat. The Kings, who started the BPL with a loss, won by a huge 105 runs.

Chittagong got a capital of 219 runs on Friday (January 3) in Mirpur on a day when Pakistani batters made history. Usman shined with a century in the seventh match of the season. This Pakistani cricketer is the 34th cricketer to score a century in the history of the BPL. There were 13 fours and 6 sixes in the innings of 123 runs. Captain Mohammad Mithun played an innings of 28 runs in 15 balls. Haider Ali took the total to 219 runs scoring 19 runs in 8 balls. Rajshahi's Taskin took two wickets for 22 runs on a day when Kings lost 5 wickets.

In reply, Rajshahi could not stand up to the whirlwind of Alis Al Islam. They lost all their wickets and were stopped for just 114 runs.

Rajshahi lost the game from the beginning of the innings. Sabbir Hossain, who came out to open, was stopped for 8 runs. Enamul Haque Bijoy, who came as the third, was stopped for 8 runs in 9 balls. Yasir Ali and Akbar Ali could not play well for the team in the middle. Yasir brought 16 runs in slow batting. Akbar returned with 18 runs in 12 balls.

Mohammad Haris, who came out to open, scored the highest run for Rajshahi. In his 15-ball innings, he hit three sixes and two fours. He scored 32 runs at a strike rate of over 200. None of the others could put up a fight.

Mysterious spinner from Chittagong Alis Al Islam took three wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs. Arafat Sunny also took three wickets for 23 runs. Mohammad Wasim and Shariful Islam took two wickets each.

Usman Khan from Chittagong was named the man of the match.
