CJ on official visit to Turkey and UAE

Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed has departed the country to attend two international events scheduled to be held in Turkey and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Supreme Court’s Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed that the Chief Justice left Dhaka for Turkey at 6:40 AM on Thursday (April 24).

According to Supreme Court sources, the Chief Justice will participate in an international symposium on April 25 at the historic Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. The symposium is being held to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Turkey. On March 6, the President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey extended an invitation to Bangladesh’s Chief Justice to attend the event.

Following that, on April 28, he will speak as a panelist at an international conference organized by New York University Abu Dhabi in the UAE capital. Additionally, on the same day, he will deliver a keynote address at a workshop attended by university students and faculty.

During the Chief Justice’s overseas visit, Senior Appellate Division Judge Md. Ashfaqul Islam will serve as the Acting Chief Justice.
