Clash between 2 factions of Swechchhasebak Dal at National Memorial

A clash erupted between two factions of the Swechchhasebak Dal over the issue of paying homage at the National Memorial in Savar on Independence Day.

The clash broke out between the two groups on the way back after laying wreaths at the memorial on Wednesday (March 26) morning.

Two senior leaders of the Swechchhasebak Dal, Badrul Alam Sumon and Delwar Hossain Matbar, were injured in the incident. They were treated at the Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex.

Badrul Alam Sumon alleged that they were attacked in a planned manner. He said, “There was some jostling while placing wreaths, which later turned into a planned attack,” he said.

On the other hand, Dhaka District Swechchhasebak Dal Member Secretary Asaduzzaman Mohan claimed, “It was nothing big, it was just jostling and we resolved it later.”
