Cluster admission test for 24 public varsities starts today
Cluster entrance examinations to 24 general and science and technology (GST) public universities for the academic year 2023-24 are scheduled to start today (April 27).
This year, 305,346 candidates will participate in the entrance test in three units against approximately 20,000 seats.
On this day, the science test of ‘A’ unit will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm at various centers across the country. Apart from this, Architecture Practical (Drawing) Exam will be conducted from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
Earlier, Convener of GST Admission Test Technical Committee and Chandpur University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Nasim Akhtar told the media that the initial application process for GST Admission Test of 2023-24 academic year ended on February 27. “This time, a total of 3,05,346 applications have been submitted. Out of this, 1,70,599 applications have been submitted in the 'A' unit of the science faculty, 94,631 in the 'B' unit of the humanities faculty and 40,116 applications in the 'C' unit of the business education faculty. Jagannath University tops as the exam center preferred by students,” he said.
He further said that among the applicants, 90,841 students have chosen Jagannath University as the center for the examination. Out of this, 53,832 students in 'A' unit, 19,770 students in 'B' unit, 17,239 students in 'C' unit will sit for the admission tests at Jagannath University center. The number is about one-third of the total applicants.
