Copy of verdict scrapping 6 cases against Dr Yunus released

The High Court has scrapped six cases, including a 2010 defamation case, filed against Chief advisor Prof Muhammad Yunus.

Copies of verdict in these cases were published on Thursday.

Earlier on October 24, the High Court bench headed by Justice AKM Asaduzzaman passed the order.

The court said in its order, this case was filed to harass Dr Muhammad Yunus. The plaintiff of the case used the court to harass him.

Meanwhile, the same bench of the High Court also canceled five cases filed against Yunus with the labor court. These cases were pending in the Third Labour Court of Dhaka.

The court wrote in its order that the plaintiff has wasted the court's time by filing these cases. Not only that, these cases have been filed without following due legal process. And that is why these five cases were dismissed.
