Country will be in danger if decision on US tariffs delayed: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the country will be in danger if a decision is not taken quickly on the additional high tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.

He made this comment at a discussion at a private university in the capital on Saturday (April 19) afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "We must give importance to the working class, garment workers and farmers. Then the country will be more developed and prosperous."

He said, “The country is ours; we have to build its future. Trump from America or Xi Jinping from China will not come and build it. Nor will Modi from India be able to push us to do anything.”

The BNP Secretary General said I want to emphasize one thing, there is no alternative to democracy. Democracy cannot be imposed. It has to be practiced.
