Cricket will once again be part of the Asian Games in 2026. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) made this decision during its 41st board meeting on Monday.

The 2026 Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya of Japan, from September 19 to October 4.

This will be the fourth time cricket is included in the Asian Games. Previously, cricket was part of the games in Guangzhou of China (2010), and Incheon of South Korea (2014). After an eight-year break, cricket returned to the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023.

Not just in the Asian Games—cricket has also been included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In that event, both men's and women's T20 cricket will be played, with six teams in each category. However, the method for selecting the participating teams has not yet been announced.
