Daulatdia-Paturia ferry services resume after 36 hours
Ferry movement along the Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed on Tuesday morning following a 36-hour suspension aimed at mitigating potential damage from cyclone 'Remal'.
As per the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha office, ferry and launch services on the Paturia and Daulatdia routes were suspended at 9:30 pm on Sunday (May 26) due to the influence of cyclone 'Remal'.
Ferry services resumed again at 9:00 am on Tuesday after 36 hours under the directive of higher authorities.
Meanwhile, at the Daulatdia end, ghat number 7 is temporarily closed due to damage, while ghats 3 and 4 remain operational for ferry operations. Although several ghats at the Paturia end sustained damage during the storm, they were repaired promptly as the damage was not severe.
