Day-long training workshop at ISU to enhance teachers’ professional skills

A day-long training workshop was held at International Standard University (ISU) to improve the professional skills and expertise of its faculty members. The workshop took place on Monday at the university’s Mohakhali campus, organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of ISU. The event was inaugurated by ISU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Awal Khan.

Titled 'Training Workshop on BAC Accreditation for Academic Programs,' ISU faculty members actively participated in the session. The workshop was presided over by Professor Dr Md Ekramul Haque, Director of IQAC. Special guests included Professor Dr Monjur Morshed Mahmud, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Professor Md. Abul Kashem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Additional Director of IQAC, Dr. Monirul Hasan Masum, was also present.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan stated that through this workshop, teachers would be able to enhance their educational and professional capabilities, as well as gain an understanding of the standards set by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC). He emphasized that ISU is working to design its academic curriculum based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, as directed by the University Grants Commission and BAC.

He further mentioned that there is no alternative to training for improving teaching quality. Strong communication skills are essential to building friendly teacher-student relationships, and teachers must play a key role in helping students build better lives.
