DB acting as 'Vanguard' for city dwellers' safety: DMP Additional Commissioner

The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) is actively working as a 'vanguard' to ensure the safety of city residents, said DMP Additional Commissioner (Detective) Rezaul Karim Mallick.

Speaking at a press conference at the DMP office's Media and Public Relations Division on Saturday (March 29), Rezaul Karim Mallick emphasized that DB has intensified its operations ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Security measures have been strengthened at shopping malls, railway stations, and bus and launch terminals to facilitate a smooth and safe Eid journey.

“DB is always ready to stand by the city dwellers and prevent any criminal activity with their cooperation,” he stated.

Highlighting the commitment of DB officers, the Additional Commissioner said, “The morale of all DB members is stronger than ever. DB strives to be at the center of public trust and an 'embodied terror' for criminals.”

He further added that DB aims to earn the public's confidence through continuous efforts and visible actions rather than mere slogans.

Rezaul Karim Mallick urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. He advised people to call the national emergency service 999 or inform the local police outpost, police station, or DB in case of any security concerns during Eid.
