A case was filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the shooting a youth leader named Forkan Ali to death in Bogura.

But Forkan's father Abdul Quddus is denying the allegations made in that case. Not only that, he also made a written request to the Superintendent of Police not to investigate the case.

In an application to the Superintendent of Police of Bogura on November 5, the father of deceased Jubo Dal leader Forkan said that on December 3 last year, Forkan took part in a BNP rally in the Sajapur area of the Dhaka-Bogura highway in Shajahanpur upazila of the district around 7:30 in the morning.

There, his son died of a heart attack after being chased by law enforcement officials. But Yunus Ali, joint secretary of Khottapara union Jubo Dal of the upazila filed a case with the court on October 30.

Forkan's family members were not even consulted while filing the case.

Shahjahanpur upazila BNP member Shafiqul Islam and Jubo Dal senior joint convener Zillur Rahman along with plaintiff of the case are extorting money centring the case.

In such a situation, Forkan's father wants to stop the investigation of the case. Also, he does not want the autopsy of Forkan's body.

Meanwhile, Yunus Ali's case mentions that Juba Dal leader Forkan was shot dead by the leaders and activists of the then ruling party Awami League.

In that case, former prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajib Wazed Joy, Awami League general secretary and former bridgesbminister Obaidul Quader and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal were said to have ordered the murder. Some 200-300 others have been named unknown accused in the case, including local leaders and activists of the Awami League.

Forkan (42) was the convener of Khottapara union Jubo Dal of Shajahanpur upazila. After his death, his body was buried without an autopsy.

BNP leader Shafiqul Islam, who was accused of extortion centring the case of Forkan, said that he does not know anything about the case. There is a conspiracy against him, he claimed.

Asked about this, Bogura Police Superintendent Zedan Al Musa said that necessary measures will be taken after investigating the application submitted by Forkan's father.
