Ferry services on the Aricha-Kazirhat and Paturia-Daulatdia routes remain suspended due to dense fog. Meanwhile, four ferries are stranded mid-river because of the fog.

Nasir Chowdhury, DGM of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), said, "Ferry operations on the Aricha-Kazirhat route were suspended around 3:30 am on Friday to avoid accidents as the fog intensified. At that time, two Ro-Ro ferries, Shah Ali and Dhanshiri, carrying passengers and vehicles, became stranded mid-river. Additionally, ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended at 5:30 am on Friday (January 17) due to the dense fog. During this time, four ferries named Dhaka, Enayetpuri, Bonolota, and Keramat Ali became stranded mid-river."

The DGM further stated, "In this situation, over 300 vehicles, including mostly goods-laden trucks, private cars, and microbuses, are waiting at both terminals for crossing."
