Dhaka rail service restored after 2.5 hours
The derailed carriage of the Jamuna Express train in Dhaka's Tejgaon has been recovered, restoring incoming rail service to Dhaka after approximately two and a half hours.
Ferdous Ahmed Biswas, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway police station, informed Views Bangladesh that the train derailed at approximately 8:05am and was successfully recovered around 10:30 am. The recovered carriage has since been transported to Tejgaon Rail Station.
"A line was closed for approximately two and a half hours. By 10:30 am, the derailed train had been restored to the line, and operations had returned to normal," Ferdous Ahmed added.
