Director Ashfaque Nipun calls for action-oriented government
Director Ashfaque Nipun has called on the government to act decisively in response to recent events affecting actress Pori Moni.
Pori Moni's planned inauguration of a cosmetics showroom in Tangail on Saturday was abruptly postponed due to local protests. The following day, an arrest warrant was issued against her for failing to appear in court regarding an old case filed by Nasir Uddin Mahmood, the former president of Uttara Club Limited.
Ashfaque Nipun voiced his frustration over the unfolding situation and condemned the protests as the work of a "mob," urging the government to take stern measures.
In a social media post on Sunday, Nipun stated: "Due to the mob's protest, Pori Moni couldn’t inaugurate the showroom. Immediately after, an arrest warrant was issued for an old case — this can’t be a coincidence. Meanwhile, notorious criminals are being released on bail and spreading terror, which is also no coincidence."
He continued, "The attacks on indigenous people and the harassment of female actresses by mobs are no longer mere coincidences. The government must move beyond being a government of coincidence or non-coincidence and become a government of action." He concluded by urging the government to curb mob violence and restore law and order, warning that failing to do so would lead to a loss of public trust.
