Director Sohanur Rahman's daughter's body recovered

Police have recovered the body of Samia Rahman Srishti (34), daughter of late film director Sohanur Rahman Sohan.

The body was recovered from a residential hotel adjacent to Cambrian School at Dakshin Jatrabari in the capital on Sunday (April 7) evening.

Sources said Samia Rahman went to the hotel in Jatrabari on Sunday afternoon. At the time of Iftar, the hotel authorities knocked on the door of the room with the Iftar and reported to the police station after receiving no response. Later, the police broke open the door and recovered Samia's body from inside.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari Police Station Sabbir Hossain said the body was recovered from room number 210 on the second floor of the hotel after receiving information from the hotel authorities in the evening. The body was found hanging from the window grill with the veil wrapped around her neck.

Deceased Samia Rahman used to live with her husband Tanim at Road No. 2 under Sector 3 of Uttara in the capital. She left her house after quarreling with her husband about family matters, the police officer added.
