Dismembered body of unidentified girl recovered from Savar

The dismembered headless body of an unidentified young woman, aged approximately 20-22 years, has been recovered from Birulia area at Savar in Dhaka.

Two hands and a head were recovered about 150 yards away from the body.

The body was recovered from a forest in Dattapara area of Birulia union around 11 pm on Monday (November 11). Initially, identity of the woman could not be known.

According to the police, the locals informed the police after seeing the headless body at night. Police went to the spot and recovered the body. After searching around, her severed head and hands were found wrapped in polythene about 150 yards away.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Wazed Ali, in-charge of Birulia police outpost of Savar Model Police Station, said, "There are injury marks on the body. The body will be sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for autopsy. Efforts are underway to confirm the identity of the victim.”
