The dismembered parts of the body of Anwarul Azim Anar, the Member of Parliament for Jhenaidah-4 constituency, have been recovered from a septic tank. On Tuesday, May 28, parts of MP Anar's body were found in the septic tank of Sanjiva Gardens in West Bengal, India.

On Tuesday evening, (May 28), this information was confirmed by Abdul Ahad, Deputy Commissioner (DB) of the Wari Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), who is currently in Kolkata.

A local resident claimed that at least four kilograms of flesh from MP Anwarul Azim Anar's body were recovered. The individual stated, "I work at Sanjiva Gardens. I was there from the morning. The flesh of the person (MP Anar) who was killed was flushed down the toilet. It then accumulated in the septic tank through the pipes."

He added, "The person who retrieved the flesh from the septic tank is our brother-in-law. Approximately three to four kilograms of flesh were found."

Previously, the Dhaka Detective Branch (DB) team had requested Kolkata CID to search the commode and sewer line of the flat in Sanjiva Gardens, the murder site, for parts of MP Anar's body. They also requested a search of the Hatisala Lake.

As part of these efforts, a search operation was conducted on Tuesday in the septic tank of Sanjiva Gardens, and the sewer line pipes were broken open. Following this, the flesh was recovered. However, neither the Bangladesh police nor the Kolkata police have made any official statements regarding this matter yet.

It is noteworthy that on May 12, Anwarul Azim Anar, the Member of Parliament for Jhenaidah-4 constituency, traveled from Dhaka to Kolkata. On May 13, he was murdered in an apartment in New Town. After the murder, to dispose of the body, the perpetrators skinned it and separated the bones and flesh. The skull was cut into four pieces, and the body parts were packed in a trolley bag and dumped in various water bodies around Kolkata. In the investigation of the incident, Bangladesh Police have so far arrested three individuals, and the CID of West Bengal Police has arrested one person.
