Drug dealer held with ice worth Tk 60 lakh in capital

The Narcotics Control Department (DNC) has arrested a drug dealer with 600 grams of ice worth about 60 lakh taka from the Gulistan area of the capital.

The arrested accused is Md. Monirul Islam, 36, son of Tofazzal Hossain of Ramkeshab village of Borhanuddin police station in Bhola district. He is currently a resident of Bawanibad Jute Mills Mosque Demra Staff Quarters.

The press briefing organized by the Dhaka Metro South Office at the DNC head office was confirmed by the Additional Director General of the department, Muhammad Yusuf.

He said that as part of the vigorous activities of the Narcotics Control Department (NDC) Dhaka Metro Office (South), a team formed under the supervision of DNC Dhaka Metro (South) Deputy Director Md. Manjurul Islam and Lalbagh Circle Inspector Mahbubul Alam Bhuiyan arrested Monirul with 600 (six hundred) grams of ice worth about 60 lakh taka on January 8 at 6 pm.

Dhaka Metro (South) Deputy Director Manjurul Islam said that based on the information received, a team conducted a raid in front of the New Rajdhani Hotel and Restaurant in Mallik Mansion, Gulistan and arrested him.
