DSCC fires 3 employees over student’s death being hit by garbage truck
The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has sacked three employees on charges of negligence of duty over the death of a student of Motijheel Ideal School who died after being hit by a garbage truck in Mugda area in the capital.
This decision was announced in an order signed by DSCC Secretary Akramuzzan on Monday (April 29) afternoon.
DSCC public relations officer Md Abu Naser said, “Three employees including the driver of the garbage truck have been sacked. They are driver Md Kamal, and cleaners Md Akhter Hossain and Md Abdul Quader Jilani.”
None of the three persons including the driver were in the car at the time of the accident. The driver entrusted the duty to drive to another person, he said.
Abu Naser said those who were supposed to be in the car as drivers and helpers did not perform their duties that day. Due to their negligence and carelessness the accident happened that day.
“Cleaners Akhter Hossain and Abdul Quader Jilani have been fired because they were supposed to be in the garbage truck at that time but they were not,” he added.
Mentionable, Mahin Ahmed, a seventh grade student of Motijheel Ideal School, died after being hit by a garbage truck on his way to his friend's house in Madina Bagh area of Mughda around 9:30pm on Thursday (April 25) last.
