EC begins door-to-door voter update

The Election Commission (EC) has begun door to door voter update to collect citizen information.

The work of collecting this information will continue from Monday (January 20) to February 3. The information collectors will collect information of citizens born on or before January 1, 2008.

Election Commission (EC) Public Relations Director Md. Shariful Alam informed the media on Sunday (January 19).

Md. Shariful Alam said that Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin and four election commissioners will inaugurate the Voter List Update Program 2025 at 10:30 am on Monday at the Savar Upazila Parishad auditorium in Dhaka district.

Senior Assistant Secretary of the EC's Election Support Branch Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury said that once the information collection work is completed, the work of taking photographs and completing the registration will begin from February 5. The registration process will continue till April 11.

The preparation of the voter list with photographs began in 2007-08. After that, the voter list has been updated six times. The EC conducted door-to-door updating activities in 2009-10, 2012-13, 2015-16, 2017-18, 2019-20, and 2022-23.
