EC decides to withdraw 2 police commissioners, 1 DC and 5 SPs

The Election Commission (EC) has ordered the withdrawal of 2 Police Commissioners, 1 DC and 5 SPs. They are the Commissioner of Metropolitan Police of Barisal and Sylhet, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Brahmanbaria and the Superintendents of Police of Habiganj, Pirojpur, Noakhali, Satkhira and Meherpur. The EC informed this in a circular on Sunday (December 12).

At the same time, the EC has written to the senior secretaries of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Administration to send a proposal to the Election Commission to appoint experienced and qualified officials in their place.

The EC said that the decision to withdraw and transfer the officials was taken in order to conduct the 12th National Assembly elections in a fair and impartial manner.

Apart from this, the Election Commission has ordered the transfer of the OCs of Manikganj Sadar, Singair and Gazipur Sreepur police station outside the district. And the EC has written to the senior secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs to send a transfer proposal in this regard.
