Edible oil prices to remain steady before Eid
Ahasanul Islam Titu, the State Minister for Commerce, has reassured consumers that there are no intentions to change the prices of edible oil ahead of the approaching Eid, despite the recent increase in the value of the dollar.
During a discussion with journalists at the secretariat on Tuesday, he provided this assurance following a meeting of the cabinet committee on government purchases.
He said, "Edible oil being import-dependent, its price won't be altered despite the dollar's increase. Producers and importers won't revise prices until the next Eid, prioritizing consumer interests."
The state minister reiterated, "I want to assure you that the recent Tk 7 rise in dollar prices will not affect consumers' wallets."
