Education Minister Inaugurates the New Office of BdREN

Education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury inaugurates the new office of Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN).

On Sunday, July 7, at 2:00 pm, education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury inaugurated the new office of Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) at Navana HR Tower, Gulshan-Tejgaon Link Road, Dhaka. During the ceremony, the minister cut the ribbon to officially open the new office building. After the inauguration, he toured various departments of the office to explore the new facilities and discuss the future plans and objectives of BdREN with the staff.

In his speech as the chief guest, the minister praised BdREN's efforts in higher education and research activities. He expressed hope that BdREN will continue to provide new and affordable services for the advancement of education and research. He also emphasized that through the development of 'Smart Education' and 'Smart Research,' BdREN will contribute to the realization of the Prime Minister’s vision of a 'Smart Bangladesh' by nurturing 'Smart Citizens.'

The event was attended by the current and former members of the Board of Trustees of BdREN, officials from the Ministry of Education, senior officials from the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, the esteemed chairman and members of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council, former senior officials of BdREN, representatives from the World Bank, and distinguished personalities from various fields.

At the beginning of the inaugural session, Mohammad Tawrit, CEO of BDREN, extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests. He expressed deep gratitude to everyone who has played a significant role in the development of BDREN and presented an overview of BDREN’s commendable activities and achievements to the participants.

The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, chairperson of the BdREN trust and member and acting chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC). In his address as the chairperson, he expressed his commitment to BdREN’s continued efforts towards the advancement of higher education and sought the support of everyone to make BdREN’s activities more expansive, education and research-friendly, and successful.
