Educational institutions will hold classes on Fridays if necessary: Minister
The government would think about keeping schools open on Fridays, if it is necessary, informed Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury.
Through a post on the verified Facebook page of the education ministry on Sunday, the minister announced that this decision was taken in order to reduce the learning gap caused by recent closures.
He said: "There are a total of 185 working days. Out of the days, 20 days are kept for assessment of the new curriculum.”
“If the educational institutions do not get the targeted working days, the government will take steps to conduct classes on Fridays to complete lessons in accordance with the curriculum,” the minister added.
Earlier, the ministry instructed the educational institutions to conduct classes on Saturdays until further instructions.
After a closure due to heat wave, academic activities and classes at all the secondary-level educational institutions-schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical educational institutions resumed on Sunday.
