Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated on Thursday

Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday as the Shawwal moon was not sighted on Tuesday evening.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after reviewing reports.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will celebrate Eid on Wednesday as the crescent moon for Shawwal was not sighted on Monday.
