Ekramul Haque Titu elected Mayor of Mymensingh city again
Ekramul Haque Titu has unofficially been elected mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation again. Titu got 1 lakh 35 thousand 959 votes in 128 centers with 'clock' symbol. On the other hand, his nearest rival district Awami League advisor Sadekul Haque Khan (Elephant) got 34 thousand 395 votes.
The result was announced after counting the votes by the returning officer's at the Tarek Memorial Auditorium in Mymensingh on Saturday (March 9).
In an immediate response, Ekramul Haque Titu said, "I am grateful to the people of the city. In the days to come, I will repay people's love through good deeds. I will gift a beautiful, modern and smart city to the people of Mymensingh by completing the unfinished works of the city soon."
There are 336,496 voters in Mymensingh City Corporation. In the election, five candidates contested for the post of mayor, 149 for general councilor of 33 wards, and 69 candidates contested in 11 reserved wards.
