Elections without reforms will not be accepted: Nahid Islam

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has said that elections without reforms and justice will not be accepted.

"A conspiracy is being hatched to rehabilitate fascism again. There is a plan to hold quick elections to come to power," he said while talking to journalists at the National Memorial in Savar on Wednesday (March 26) after paying tributes to the martyrs of 1971.

Nahid said, "We want to build a democratic state system. What we wanted in 1971 was achieved in 24. Those who are contradicting this have dishonest intentions."

Nahid further said, "The independence of 71 and the independence of 24 are not contradictory. If any party tries to come to power without reforms and justice, the people will not accept it. NCP will resist them."
