Electricity supply restored for 1.31 crore customers

Electricity has been restored to 1.31 crore customers who had experienced outages. According to a press release from the Power Division, as of last night, three crore and three lakh and nine thousand customers nationwide were without power. Currently, 71.73 lakh customers remain without electricity.

The Power Division has stated that they expect to restore electricity to 50% of the affected customers by today. By tomorrow, 80% of the affected customers are expected to have power restored. Efforts are being made to normalize the situation for the remaining 20% of customers as quickly as possible.

The Rural Electrification Board (REB) has reported a financial loss of 10.3 billion BDT. A total of 30,000 people are working together to restore normalcy.

Meanwhile, the West Zone Power Distribution Company (WZPDCL), responsible for supplying electricity to Khulna, Barishal, and Faridpur urban areas, has restored power to 1,403,526 of its 1,548,145 customers.

However, 144,000 customers of the distribution company are still without power. WZPDCL has reported a financial loss of 55 million BDT so far.
